How To Succeed In Law Enforcement*

The difference in the police accounts could not be explained. Both investigators have declined public comment. Sergeant Gottlieb, 43, is by far the more experienced. He was hired by the Durham Police Department in 1987 and promoted to sergeant in May 2005 and to supervisor of investigations in February 2006; Officer Himan, 27, was hired in 2002 and assigned to investigations last January.

This makes me sick.
The notes appearing out of nowhere, the false affidavits, the fact that Gottlieb couldn't get arrested in NC if he asked a TV reporter to video tape one of his transgressions.
What happens here when local law enforcement turns a blind eye to corruption and abuse of power?
It's apparent NC doens't seem to give a good crap. So where does that leave us? The Federal Government?
I don't care if we have to call the mounties - this is the worst example of law enforcement gone wild that I've seen.
Wonder how many years these people have been lawless to be this bold and act so untouchable.
